EKA Graduation Ring Competition

The Student Council of the Estonian Academy of Arts announces a competition for the design of the graduation ring.

The first EKA graduation rings will be handed out at the Estonian Academy of Arts’ 110th anniversary. The graduation ring symbolises the commitment, creativity and achievements of graduates and the ring could be an expression of academic values, artistic innovation and the spirit of EKA.

Terms of the competition:

  • To be eligible to enter the competition, you must be an EKA student/alumni/lecturer.

What to take into account:

  • The material must be durable and long-lasting
  • The design must allow replication
  • The name and year of graduation must fit inside the ring
  • The ring is intended for everyday wear

Designs should be presented as a surface solution on a scale of 1:1. Add a prototype if needed.

The deadline for submissions is August 19th, 2024, at the latest at 5 p.m. The designs can be submitted from 12.08 to 16.08, from 9am to 5pm, in an envelope to the guard desk of the Estonian Academy of Arts, at Põhja pst 7, Tallinn. Include the author’s name in a sealed envelope.

The prize fund of the competition is 600 euros.

The design of the ring is selected by a jury formed by the EKA Student Council. The winning design is executed in cooperation with the author (the design may change according to the technical solution). An author’s contract will be done with the author of the winning work, transferring the property rights to EKA.
