In 2023, the teaching of ceramics at the Estonian Academy of Arts will be 100 years old. On this occasion, a publication has been published, the purpose of which is to show the continuity of the specialty, but also to introduce and update the terminology. There is great interest in ceramics as a material and its possibilities in both art and design. The book is aimed at a wider readership with an interest in culture and offers plenty of discussions on topics related to ceramics. The book has been contributed by people involved in teaching ceramics at the Estonian Academy of Arts today (view from the inside) as well as invited writers from other fields (view from the outside), who open the door to important materials, technologies, events, persons and trends in the field of ceramics for the reader through the ages. Texts introducing the specialty are alongside life situations, memories and photographic material from the present EKA to the early years of the State School of Arts and Crafts 100 years ago.
