Artist-in-Residence rules and regulations
Artist-in-Residence is a programme of the Department of Jewellery and Blacksmithing at the Estonian Academy of Arts. It provides young specialists, also artists from abroad, with a chance to work in a creative environment.
Conditions
Artist-in-Residence is available to all graduates of the Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts. It also serves foreign students and artists who would like to work here and acquire some new experience.
The artist can use all the Department workshops, the technological equipment and have help from the staff. He has a personal workplace and can also consult our lecturers.
We expect the artist to be open, to introduce his work to students and to provide advice if needed.
Artist-in Residence does not automatically grant a right to participate in study courses. Conditions for participating in special courses are agreed beforehand.
Artist-in Residence has to follow general house rules.
The length of the Artist-in-Residence period varies; it should preferably last for at least one month between September and May.
The charge for Art Academy graduates is 75 EUR, for guests 100 EUR a month.
This does not include accommodation or the cost of materials.
