EKA plays an important role in organizing the upcoming CIRRUS network meeting, “Design and Artistic Research,” in collaboration with the CIRRUS board and the Royal Danish Academy. The event will take place from November 6–8, 2024, in Copenhagen.
The CIRRUS secretariat is situated in EKA’s International Relations Department, led by Sandra Mell, and the current chair of CIRRUS is Ruth Melioranski, Dean of EKA’s Faculty of Design.

This significant meeting will bring together educators, workshop leaders, coordinators, and leaders from the leading Nordic and Baltic art and design universities. Participants will discuss how to develop the artistic framework in education, support student development, and ensure the quality and peer review of research.

November 7: Professor Joost Grootens on “Design and Artistic Research”
November 8: Professor Ida Engholm presenting “Planetary Dreaming”
More than 10 staff members from EKA, including professors, project coordinators, and workshop leaders, will take part in this meeting. The event in Copenhagen will be the largest CIRRUS network meeting ever, with more than 130 participants from the top Nordic and Baltic design universities.
