The winners of the EKA Awards 2024 were announced at the EKA Christmas Party. Professor Jüri Kermik, Head of the Department of Interior Architecture, stood out among the nominees, who was awarded the prize for his personal exhibition “Joint Double” at ETDM, which gives a new meaning to the heritage of craftsmanship and has a profound timeless and philosophical dimension.

Dr. Jüri Kermik is a designer, design historian and professor of interior architecture at the EAA.
As a designer, Kermik is interested in the interrelationship between place, space and objects – seating, furniture, lighting and materials – and his portfolio includes interior architecture works, installations, chairs and lighting in the form of small series and one-offs. Since 1992, Kermik’s work has been exhibited in several international exhibitions.
