Today, on Friday, April 4th, rector Hilkka Hiiop’s five-year term begins.
Hilkka Hiiop was elected as Rector of the Estonian Academy of Arts on January 31st. Since 2021, Hiiop has held the position of Dean of EKA’s Faculty of Art Culture and is a professor in the academy’s Department of Heritage Preservation and Conservation.
Rector Hiiop’s term of office begins with the signing of her contract with the chairman of EKA’s Council, Kai Lobjakas.
The members of the inaugural EKA Rectorate are Rector Hilkka Hiiop, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Anne Pikkov, Vice-Rector for Research Linda Kaljundi, Director of Administration and Finance Andres Tammsaar, Dean of the Faculty of Design Ruth Helene Melioranski, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Sille Pihlak, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Kirke Kangro, and Dean of the Faculty of Art and Culture Epp Lankots.
The rector’s inauguration ceremony will take place in EKA’s main hall on April 23rd, starting at 16.00.
