Sven Idarand
Sven Idarand, a long-term project manager and lecturer at EKA, was nominated for the Entrepreneurial Teacher of the Year candidate for his dedicated and versatile projects.
The Entrepreneurship and Career Training Program “Edu ja Tegu” (Success and Action), initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research and managed by the Education and Youth Board, recognizes people and teams who contribute to and promote entrepreneurship and career training. This time, one of the nominees for the Entrepreneurial Teacher of the Year was Sven Idarand, a lecturer and the project manager of the research and development department in EKA.
For almost 20 years, he has helped EKA to develop entrepreneurship education that takes into account the specifics of the creative field, and has inspired hundreds of young people to step into the shoes of entrepreneurship. He has led entrepreneurship studies at EKA, written projects for funding to develop study programs, initiated internships for students and alumni, co-authored the entrepreneurship study module that takes into account the specifics of the creative field, and paid special attention to developing entrepreneurship studies in master’s programs. For Idarand, it is important to have encounters with creative entrepreneurs, practitioners and learn from experience. He is also the supervisor and organizer of the business idea development program STARTER and the entrepreneur himself.
The Entrepreneurial Teacher of the Year title recognizes a teacher, lecturer in entrepreneurship, career or other subjects who have made an outstanding contribution to students’ entrepreneurial and career development and has applied or introduced methods and practices that inspire and encourage others.
The Entrepreneurship and Career Training Program “Edu ja Tegu” recognized people and teams who contribute to and promote entrepreneurship and career training for the fifth time.
