Competition
The Accessories and Bookbinding Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) is celebrating its 105th birthday in March with the exhibition called ‘’Perspectives’’. The exhibition space, an abstract composition and a three-dimensional landscape, is created by the curator Helen Sirp and will be open until March 31.
Together with works by students and alumni of the EKA Accessories and Bookbinding Department, the exhibition will feature works by the students from three visiting universities: Detroit College for Creative Studies, Designskolen Kolding and London College of Fashion.
Works related to the field of accessory and bookbinding design, that are created during the last 5 years, such as various footwear, bags, gloves, headwear, artifacts, material experiments, bindings and mini-installations, will be displayed at the exhibition.
One of the designers will be awarded with the prize (€ 1,000) by the Accessories and Bookbinding Department, there will also be several special prizes.
The commission members are: Helen Sirp, Eliška Horčíková, Monica Langwe, Kärt Ojavee, Urmas Lüüs, Kai Lobjakas, Tanel Veenre, Solveig Gubser and Rolands Peterkops.

The exhibition will also introduce other opportunities for professional higher education in Estonia in addition to EKA – Pallas University of Applied Sciences and University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.
Every week there will be various pop-up exhibitions of the projects from the EKA Accessories and Bookbinding Department, several workshops, and open lectures that take place throughout the month.
