“Co-creating design(s) to support intimacy between remote families: A Collaborative approach to interaction, social, and sensorial design” aims to bridge the emotional distance between families, inspired by the phenomenology of intimacy. By fostering collaboration among students, researchers, and practitioners, we seek to explore and merge the areas of interaction design and social design, particularly focusing on sensorial design. Our methodology emphasises participatory design, community engagement, and hands-on workshops to create embodied experiences that support remote intimacy. Additionally, we aim to provide design master’s students with first-hand experience in design research. Through publications, presentations, and community events, we will share our findings, establishing a collaborative network dedicated to advancing the field of remote intimacy and supporting the lives of families living far away from each other.
