The size of the fee fund will be revealed at the end of 2024. If desired, EKA students can additionally receive credits for work within the project(s).

Principles of putting together the program

When making choices, we give preference to current and former students of the Estonian Academy of Arts (in that order), but in the case of group exhibitions, the groups may also include persons not connected to EKA. We try to keep diversity in mind when selecting projects. We prefer projects that have been specifically made for EKA Gallery or which are shown for the first time. We favor projects that promote collaboration (between different curriculas).

In 2025, the EKA Gallery program will consist of 8 exhibition projects (one of which will be organized by EKA Museum). In addition, the TASE graduation festival and assessment marathon of the faculty of Fine Arts are held twice a year in the gallery. The average duration of exhibitions is 4-5 weeks including set-up and take-down. There are 3 exhibitions a year in the EKA Billboard Gallery, the duration of the projects is 3–4 months. As a result of the open call, at least 5 exhibition projects and 3 short events are chosen to take place in the EKA Gallery and at least two projects in the EKA Billboard Gallery will be completed in 2025.

For the first time, the EKA Gallery competition awaits portfolios in addition to project proposals. We want to create opportunities for new collaborations and save participants’ time by avoiding a lot of preliminary work before being selected. Those who do not wish to apply with a specific project idea are also welcome to submit portfolios.
