New building procurements and financing
- On 12 August 2016, after a successful public procurement, the Estonian Academy of Arts and Telora-E AS entered into a contract for construction management and owner’s supervision service for the new Estonian Academy of Arts building. The first order of business under the contract was preparation of the construction procurement documentation and the publication of the contract notice.
- On 15 September 2016, the contract was duly announced – public procurement no. 178386, entitled (in translation) “Renovation and construction of the new Estonian Academy of Arts academic building”. The deadline for submission of tenders in the public procurement was 10 November 2016.
- On 4 October 2016, the Archimedes Foundation decided to approve the Estonian Academy of Arts project “EKA LOOVKÄRG – the Estonian study and research centre for visual and spatial culture” in the requested amount – 16,735,391 euros. The future building will be the physical environment of this centre.
- On 3 January 2017, the Estonian Academy of Arts and OÜ Astlanda Ehitus signed a contract for performing renovation and construction work in the university’s future location in the Rauaniidi building, situated on the boundary of the Kalamaja and the Old Town in Tallinn, at the address Kotzebue 1/Põhja pst 7. Astlanda Ehitus OÜ (registry code 11366804) won the procurement. Seven tenders were received by 10 November 2016, all of which met the procurement conditions. The winner was the lowest-cost tender, as this was the criterion for the procurement. A strength of Astlanda Ehitus will certainly be their experience in renovating buildings with historical and cultural value.
