Contemporary jewellery exhibition OBSERVA(C)TION will be opening on Thursday, 18th of May at 3 PM in the Russian Theatre. The exhibition displays the works of the second course students of the Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts.
OBSERVA(C)TION is an analysis of human behavioral patterns and everyday rituals. Whether it is a candid or public observation, whether oneself or others are being observed, or whether one allows oneself to be observed – all these questions will be expressed in the displayed works.
The exhibited jewellery has been produced from iron, glass, silk, ashes, brass, precious wood, porcelain and gems.
The exhibition features the following artists: Anastassia Nikitina, Claudia Lepik, Liisbeth Kirss, Liina Lelov, Kätlin Kokk, Veronika Ovsyannikova, Sigrid Kuusk, Ljubov Kedrina, Marilin Laas (glass art), Kaia Ansip, Liisbet Linntamm.
The works have been supervised by: Eve Margus-Villems, Nils Hint, Urmas Lüüs, Piret Ellamaa, Jens A. Clausen, Fred Truus.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Russian theatre from 19th of May til 4th of June, from Tuesdays to Sundays at 2 PM – 6 PM.

Exhibition Observa(c)tion is part of the satellite program of the 7th Tallinn Applied Art Triennial. The Triennial constitutes an international art event within the framework of which applied artists and designers give meaning to time and varied approaches thereto. “Ajavahe. Time Difference”, the main exhibition of this year’s Triennial, is open at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design from 21 April 2017 through 23 July 2017. The voluminous satellite program is featured in Tallinn’s galleries, cafes, open studios and other exciting places from the end of March until the beginning of August.
