The aim of the project is to bring together humanities scholars, museum and heritage restoration experts from the Baltic Sea region to share recent research and make transnational connections in understanding art and heritage. The project will create a new network to offer new perspectives on the collections and archival materials of Baltic Sea museums and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of history and environmental history. The project aims to create and disseminate a critical cultural history of the region, linking heritage, contemporary understanding of history and environmental issues. An international conference will be organised.

Lead institution: Södertörn University.
Participating Institutions: University of Södertörn, Estonian Academy of Arts, University of Gdansk and Latvian Academy of Arts.
