The Estonian Academy of Arts is inviting: an open lecture by Gwen van den Eijnde, an Associate Professor from the Rhode Island School of Design (USA). The lecture will be held on March 28th, in room A-501 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Gwen van den Eijnde is a Dutch-born, New York-based costume historian, designer, and professor with over twenty years of experience in the field.
He has conducted research, developed, and created numerous experimental costume-led performances across a broad range of institutional contexts. Gwen possesses expert knowledge in clothing design and construction, textile materiality, and hand-embroidery techniques. He has been commissioned to work for major fashion houses, including Hermès and Tiffany & Co., and has collaborated extensively with artists from various disciplines.
As the Head of Apparel Design and an Associate Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design, Gwen van den Eijnde encourages students to approach learning with an open mindset, fostering personalized research and expression. His professional and artistic experiences in costume design contribute to an interdisciplinary vision that extends beyond fashion, promoting unique and innovative approaches to storytelling and exhibition design.
