Moonika Maidre is a graphic designer and illustrator working in Tallinn. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts Department of Graphic Design in 2012.
Moonika has designed a number of event posters and visuals, designed exhibitions for the Estonian Road Museum, and created a visual identity for the competition “Estonia’s Best School Cook”. In collaboration with Kristel Maamägi, Moonika has prepared and designed a colouring book for children: Moos, putukad ja ilmaolud (Jam, Bugs and Weather Conditions).
In 2013, Maidre won bronze at the Estonian Design Awards for the visual identity for Kahvliahvi Kokakool (Kahvliahv’s Cooking School), and in 2015, a gold medal for the design and illustrations in Kahvliahvi kokaraamat (Kahvliahv’s Cookbook). The book was chosen as one of the 25 most beautiful Estonian books that year.
In addition to her design work, Moonika teaches illustration classes and workshops at the department and has a permanent teaching position at Mattias Basic School. Moonika Maidre is teaching at the department since 2014.
