The customer Peetri Puit OÜ was looking for an application for CLT (cross-laminated timber) production residues. The aim of the project was to suggest possible solutions to find a potential product or method to add value to the waste material.
When cutting out wall panels from plywood, there are often leftovers, such as window and door openings. This residual material allows the wood to be seen as massive but small building blocks. The project will develop standard elements that can be cut from more frequent production residues and offer designs based on these elements in the form of small architectural forms. One specific output is, for example, a bus stop.
