EKA Fine Arts Faculty’s Senior Researcher Raivo Kelomees, PhD student in Art and Design Taavet Jansen and Associate Professor in Dance Studies from Oulu University of Science Petri Hoppu have been awarded the Publication of the Year by the Oamk Journal editorial board for their report “From Past to Present: The Journey of Technological Theatre”. The publication, selected from the 2023–2024 academic year, was praised for its strong international and interdisciplinary approach.
The editorial board highlighted its high-quality writing, excellent illustrations, well-structured content, and readability. Also acknowledged the publications creative and consistent style, despite being written by multiple authors from different organizations. The article made a complex subject accessible to a wide audience, particularly those active in the performing arts.
The article “From the past to the present: the journey of technological theatre” gives an overview of the evolution of technological theatre. The article was written by Raivo Kelomees, Taavet Jansen and Petri Hoppu in the framework of the international collaboration project ACuTe.
