SISU—LINE #2 is based on materials from the SISU 2015 symposium and has the same title – Spatial Impact.
“Society controls people and their behavior in the space more and more – the professional activity of an (interior) architect is regulated by all kinds of norms that are based on the health and safety of the user of the space. At the same time, between the pragmatic framework of the spatial environment and the real perception of space is something perceptible, which a person feels subconsciously, which emerges as if by itself – from personal experience, a common sense of a peasant and a gut feeling… In order to anticipate tomorrow’s changes, yesterday’s beliefs must be questioned,” writes Tüüne- In the foreword by Kristin Vaikla.
SISU—LINE #2 is a two-part, photo-illustrated collection of the most important presentations from the 2015 SISU Symposium:
Juhani Pallasmaa writes about body, mind and architecture, Gaeme Brooker about the nature of interior architecture, Kees Spanjers about space, place and people, and Aet Ader about an Estonian stuck in space. “Living Architectures” and the video installation “La Maddalena”, screened on SISU FILM, have also become written words, the synopsis of which was written by Ingel Vaikla.
In the second part, there will be short articles with photos from Patrice Girod and Evelyne Merkx about the ambitious space, Liisa and Andres Põimet about the Estonian representative room, Arhitek Must writes about the shelters of the architecture students of the Estonian Academy of Arts, and Kadri Klementi about the educational amplifier.
SISU—LINE #2 is editor-in-chief of Estonian Academy of Arts PhD student, interior architect Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla, and the board includes Edina-Dufala Pärn, interior architecture lecturer at Estonian Academy of Arts, Martin Melioranski, architecture lecturer, and Jüri Kermik (PhD), head of Brighton University’s Center for Innovative and Creative Thinking and Design Futures curriculum, and Director of the Estonian Architecture Museum Triin Ojari.
