Kunstiakadeemia arhitektuuriteaduskonna avatud loengute sari
Michael
U. Hensel on uuendusmeelne Saksa päritolu arhitekt, teadur, õppejõud ja
kriitik, keda paelub teoreetilise ja eksperimenteeriva uurimistöö “tulemustele
orienteeritud projekteerimise” rakendamine toimiva elukeskkonna
ehitustegevuses. Hensel on õpetanud Londoni arhitektuuriühingu arhitektuurikoolis, kus oli
üks sealse tärkavate tehnoloogiate ja disainiprogrammi (EmTech) juhte. Ta on
tegutsenud ka külalisprofessorina ja pidanud loenguid nii Euroopas, Ameerikas,
Aasias kui Austraalias. Hetkel on ta Oslo arhitektuurikooli AHO
arhitektuuriprofessor, kus alates 2011. aastast juhib arhitektuuri ja
tektoonika teaduskeskust (RCAT). Ta on üks neist, kes 1994. aastal pani aluse
OCEAN koostööplatvormile ning juhatab seal disaini teadustöö ühendust alates
2008. aastast. Alates 2007.a. on ta ka kestliku tööstuse biomimeetika
võrgustiku BIONIS juhatuse liige ning ajakirja AD (Wiley) toimetuskolleegiumi
liige.

Arhitektuuriteaduskonna loengusarja raames on Tallinnas esinenud mitmed
maailmakuulsad arhitektid, teoreetikud, kriitikud ja urbanistid, et tutvustada
arhitektuuri, disaini, linnaehituse ning kriitilise mõtte värskeid vaatenurki.
Loengud on mõeldud nii arhitektuurivaldkonna tudengitele ja erialaga seotud
professionaalidele, kui ka ruumikultuuri huviliste laiemale ringile. Loengud on
inglise keeles ning tasuta.

Arts Faculty of Architecture Public Guest Speaker Series
Michael U. Hensel is an innovative
German-born architect, researcher, educator and writer who is concerned with “performance-oriented
design”, dealing with theoretical and experimental research into the
making of the built environment.Hensel taught at the Architectural Association
School of Architecture in London, where he co-directed the Emergent
Technologies and Design Program (EmTech). He has held visiting professorships
and innovation fellowships and has taught and lectured in Europe, the Americas,
Asia and Australia. Hensel is currently Professor for Architecture at AHO, the
Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Norway, where he is since 2011 director
of the Research Centre for Architecture and Tectonics. He is a founding member
of OCEAN, founded in 1994, and founding chairman of the OCEAN Design Research
Association founded in 2008. Since 2007 he has been a board member of BIONIS,
the Biomimetics Network for Industrial Sustainability and editorial board
member of AD Wiley.

Quite a few well-known architects, theoreticians, critics and urbanists
have given talks at this lecture series, to offer fresh perspectives on
architecture, design, urban development and critical thought from around the
globe.
The lectures are open to all students and professionals in the fields of
architecture, urbanism and other spatial studies, as well as to the broader
circle of those interested in the future of our living environment. The
lectures are in English and they are free of charge.
