Fotokunstnik Matias Costa avatud loeng tutvustab tema kunstiteekonda ja räägib fotograafiks olemise tagamaadest. Buenos Aireses sündinud ja auhinnatud fotograafina tegutseb Costa tänaseks peamiselt Hispaanias.
Oma loomingus toob ta esile juurimise, identiteedi ja mälu otsimise teemad. Costa töömeetod põhineb ideel otsinguprotsessist kui loomingu loomulikust mootorist. Ta süveneb ideesse kartograafiast kui ehitustööriistast, mis põhineb eksperimenteerimisel, otsingutel ja väärtuslikel leidudel töö käigus.
Loeng on inglise keeles, tasuta ja avatud kõigile huvilistele, kes eelnevalt osalema registreeruvad.
Avatud loengu ajal on Galerii Positiivis 19.03.–07.04.2024 üleval Costa näitus „Tulnuka nahk“.

Artist Talk by Photographer Matias Costa
Matias Costa will present his artistic journey and talk about the background to his work as a photographer. Costa was born in Buenos Aires and now lives and works in Spain. His work highlights themes of uprooting, the search for identity, and memory.
Costa’s way of working is based on the idea of the search process itself as the natural engine of creation. He delves into the idea of cartography as a construction tool, based on experimentation, search, and incorporating happy findings as a part of the work.
In addition to the lecture, Matias’ exhibition “Alien Skin” will be open in Galeri Positiiv from 19.03.2024 to 7.04.2024.
